All humans have the need to be heard and understood. This attribute of God was placed in us. It's not a prideful desire but a natural law of existence. To exist and have your existence noticed and enjoyed while enjoying the existence of others.
This is the foundation of all relationships. All communication stems from this need. Like being in a conversation with someone who you really enjoy, each of you hang on to the expressions made by the other. Just as a husband and wife who are completely in love.
This same desire to be heard and noticed can also be twisted against us. Maybe we were raised in environments of neglect and all of a sudden we begin changing who we are to become acceptable to those around us. We start to question the way God created us. Am I good enough to my earthly parents, society and ultimately God Himself?
Many of us are searching for a platform where our voices can be heard. This desire to spill our hearts on accepting ears is good yet far too often our voices only reach other souls attempting the same plight. And we never actually hear or get heard.
If God is the foundation of community then our ability to communicate with God will set the stage for all communication with other relationships.
If our relationship with God is not in proper alignment then our communication with others will be hindered. Your ability to converse with Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit will be in direct correlation to your ability to communicate on all other levels.
The bible says that we walk by faith and not by sight. This means that we make decisions based on the inward conversation with Holy Spirit. The bible also says that faith comes by hearing the living word of God. So in order for us to walk by faith we need to hear his direction. Spiritually we need ears to see where we are going.
- Why is it important that you grow in your ability to hear God speak?
